How to make Jolly Rancher Roses

How to make Jolly Rancher Roses:

Things You'll Need

Bamboo skewers, one per rose

Kitchen scissors

Glass bowl

Jolly Rancher candies

Food safe rubber gloves

Step 1: Trim the Skewers

Snip the pointed end off one bamboo skewer for each rose you want to make.

Step 2: Warm the Candies

Put about a cup of water into a small glass bowl and add a handful of candies (still in their wrappers) to the bowl. Microwave for 30 seconds to 1 minute or so, depending on the microwave. The water should be uncomfortable to touch but not hot enough to burn your fingers.

Step 3: Mold the First Petal

Wearing food-safe rubber gloves, take one candy from the hot water. Knead the wrapped candy between your thumbs and fingers, flattening and molding it into a rough oval.

Unwrap the candy and refine the shape into a petal. Roll the candy around the end of the skewer, molding it to look like the center of a rose.

Tip

  • Work quickly before the candy re-hardens. If necessary, return the candy to the bowl of warm water until it's pliable again.

Step 4: Add Petals As Desired

Continue shaping and adding petals, working in a circle around the skewer, offsetting each candy and curving the petals to create the shape of a rose.

Tip

  • Use a milk bottle or tall drinking glass to hold the rose as you shape additional petals.

Step 5: Form the Leaves

Put fresh water in the bowl and warm two green candies as described in Step 2. Knead one wrapped candy between your fingers until it forms a relatively flat oval.

Unwrap the candy and refine it into a leaf shape, somewhat pointed on the end with slightly curved edges. When you're satisfied with the shape, mold the leaf around the rose petals.
Shape the other wrapped green candy into a rough oval. Unwrap the candy and refine the shape a bit. Poke the end of the skewer through the flattened candy and slide the candy up to the bottom of the rose. Mold the candy to form the base of the rose.

Make a bouquet or keep it simple with a single bud. Doesn't this make a beautifully "sweet" rose?

Day 31

Sunday January 31, 2016

The past 10 days have been busy days. I have not felt like writing at all so sorry about that. I have not done much in the past week and a half. Except for Friday I skipped school, and went to MSDA with Yigeiry :). We were teaching the kids how to make "Jolly Rancher Roses" for Valentine's Day. Oh and my mom found out I had that iPhone 4 Stephanie let me borrow so fml.

It's a pretty simple, and Beautiful thing to make.
I have not been doing any of my resolutions I made in new years. I stopped working out, I procrastinate all the time, I mean I still get my work done, but that is not good. And I have not been writing everyday, obviously. But let's just start over in February. No more procrastinating! I NEED straight A's. Work out every day! So I can be fit, healthy, and ready for track season. Write all my thoughts, hopes and dreams. So that one day I can write my book.

Day 21

Thursday January 21, 2016

I got a phone today!

I had an appointment today, it was about my jaw. OMG I can't believe I'm going to get surgery. I'm freaked out.
I don't know why but I'm happy asf! My photo shoot pictures are finally here! I mean not all of them... There was only 37, I was only in half of them, the other ones were my brother's pictures. ANYWAYS they are so cute!!! Imagine how they're gonna look when they all edited and perfect! *.* She sent us all the pictures through mail so we could pick the ones we wanted to have edited, but its taking so long to get here. So we ask the photographer to send us some of them so we could send some pictures to a modeling agency that is interested in us. I was so geeked last night!! And I was talking to this boy... lol I don't exactly like him, but I don't know there's just something about him. "Good Vibes" I love talking to him like, we never run out of things to say, and all the conversations we have are just so interesting. I like getting to know him, like I don't know he is just so interesting! I like it when we text like this:
Anyways today was a good ass day :)

Day 16

Saturday January 16, 2016

LIT.

Today was pretty lit/chill/stressful/annoying. I went to church, like the usual you know. And when I got there, there was a huge bus in front of church. I was so confused for a moment, before I realized it was WA!!! I ran inside and the first person I saw was Daisy!! I gave her a huge hug, then Eli and Jacki, all my crew was there!! I missed them so much! They came to sing and play bells. I used to be in bells last year, and we traveled a lot! They do that almost every Saturday! So after they were done, we ate and talked so much the time flew by. They left o fast :(. After I just went home and watched my show; "The Beauty & The Beast". Then we went back to church for "Sociedad de Jovenes" After it was done I left with Yige to her house so she could change, before going to Ashley's house. When we (Yige, Alexis{my brother}, and I) got there  Ashley gave us snacks. OMG them snacks were good asf. We had popcorn, hot Cheetos, all types of chips, juices, sodas, etc. Then we ordered pizza, we played the Wii, watched a movie, and chilled, danced, went crazy for a while lol. I got home at midnight, and I didn't go to sleep till 3am cuz I was watching my show.

Ashley told me if I can go a week without phone without dying, she'll give me her old phone (iPhone 5c) So let's see how this goes!! I'll have a phone again in a week!!
